The next Big Energy Saving Week starts on Monday 21 January 2019. It is a national campaign to help people cut their energy bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.
The week focuses on raising public awareness of how to save money on energy costs by switching energy supplier or tariff, accessing discounts or grants, and making homes more energy efficient.
“During last year’s Big Energy Saving Week we helped a couple, whose boiler had broken two years ago, just as the wife was coming out of hospital after suffering a stroke. It was very stressful for the couple who couldn’t afford to fix their boiler due to a significant decrease in income, with the wife having to give up work due to ill health, and the husband going part time in order to care for her. Since 2015, the couple had had no central heating. Within 3 weeks of being helped at Big Energy Saving Week the couple had a fully functioning, fully funded central heating system worth £2,500. We hope to help many more people this year.”
