Warm and Well in North Yorkshire (WWNY) is supporting National Energy Action’s Warm Homes Campaign by organising ‘Keeping Selby Warm and Well’. It will be held on Friday 26 th January 2018 at Selby DistrictCouncil.
The Warm Homes Campaign are highlighting the fact that over a million families won’t be able to meet basic costs of living this winter, facing an income shortfall of up to £778 per month to cover basic essentials, including energy. Vulnerable people will be hit the hardest, including older people and those in ill-health and on low incomes.
‘Keeping Selby Warm and Well’ is also part of Big Energy Saving Week, with a focus on raising public awareness of how to switch energy supplier or tariff to get the best deal and make homes energy efficient.
The event is for people and organisations who work directly with clients in need. It will focus on practical measures that can make their client’s homes safer, cheaper and warmer. There will be talks from WWNY, the Yorkshire Energy Doctor and Lance Saxby from Better Homes.
We will be providing delicious, warming refreshments for everyone attending, including hot chocolate tasting and homemade marshmallows.
